The Fungi world (177) : False Death Cap

The False Death Cap (also known as Citron Amanita) is a fungus that can be found in deciduous and coniferous woodlands in Europe and North America.

It’s mildly poisonous but it can be easily confused with the lethal toxic Death Cap (Amanita phalloides), hence the name.

Typical for this fungus is its potato-like smell.

Dutch name : Gele knolamaniet
German name : Gelber Knollenblätterpilz
Latin name : Amanita citrina
