SEDANG
This attractive young womand belongs to the Sedang hill tribe people in Central Vietnam. I took the photo in a small village on the way to Kontum.
The Sedang are reknown to make the most beautiful baskets. Each basket is a meticulously, individually, hand-crafted work of art. They live in a beautiful landscape but their lives are not easy and work really hard to get a meagre living from agriculture, growing their own food, and selling what they can. They, like many Vietnamese people, survive on very little money.
