Ready for Nyepi festival today
Photo captured by self-timer shows preparing for the great Nyepi parade tonight. The Ogoh-ogoh statue a monster doll made of light materials, wood, bamboo, paper, and styrofoam was formed days before the celebration. It takes the shape of mythological, evil creatures and gods to represent negative aspects of living things and criticise society and its latest issues. The name itself comes from ‘ogah ogah’, the Balinese word for ‘shaken’.
