Neighbors of The Battery & White Point Park -- Charleston, S.C. -- USA

A few beautiful blossoms which grace the public area of White Point Park in Charleston, S.C. on The Battery, which is famous for being the supposed location of the cannons which fired the first bombardment of Fort Sumter in the Charleston Harbor in 1861. As the old story goes, there were a few students from the nearby Citadel Military College of South Carolina who chose this method to protest the Federal Government's reenforcement of the Union Forces on the island that Ft. Sumter occupied.
