Tri-Centennial Parade in My Hometown (Denmark-USA)
Vickie Lynne Chesser was the Queen of the South Carolina Tri-Centennial
Celebration in 1970. She graced the Tri-Centennial float and won the hearts of the onlooking fellow citizens of mine in Denmark, South Carolina. Our celebration recognized the 1670 founding of the Charles Town Landing in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
Queen Vickie Lynne Chesser went on to become the wife of Major League
Baseball's Hall of Fame Catcher Johnny Bench of the Cincinnatti Reds, who were known as the Big Red Machine. (the Benches have since parted, as have the rest of the Big Red Machine.
