My Moment in the Sun
It is not often that one has a cheering crowd in the streets below. I had been taking dozens of pictures of the gathered school kids, outside of my hotel in Hama, Syria, awaiting to participate in the annual Spring Festival. When I went upstairs to change memory card, I stepped on the balcony, and someone saw me, and this was the result. I later sent CDs of all of the pictures I took to the hotel, to have them passed on to the teachers to share with the kids.
