Into Deep Water.
A bulk carrier heads out of the Straits of Dover into the deeper water of the English Channel. I have to admit to a melancholy each time I see a ship heading slowly west to the horizon, released from the close embrace of the Straits of Dover to the wide open, engulfing space beyond.

Powerful shot. I love the light, textures and the variety in the cloud layers. Also the sense of solitude as the craft enters the great waterborne beyond.A favorite.
