Hebridean Tour: Stornoway (Steòrnabhagh)
It was a culture shock after our tour from Barra throught the islands to arrive in Stornway with its bustle and traffic.
About 8,000 inhabitants but it has some advantages of big city such as a large modern hospital and airport as it is the main centre for the whole region.
No Ceileidhs I'm afraid - so another topic for next year's agenda.
The weather was just amazing - while on the mainland rain, rain, rain and heavy flooding...

Stornoway war ein Kulturschock nach der Tour von Barra nördlich über die Inselkette. Mit nur 8.000 Einwohnern hat sie als Zentrum für die Region einige Vorteile einer viel größeren Stadt wie ein Krankenhaus und einen Flughafen.
Aber leider kein Ceileidh - wieder etwas für die Agenda 2008.
Das Wetter war wieder einfach herrlich - während auf dem Festland regnet und regnet es, sogar heftige Überflutungen...

Am Hafen ist Stornoway am schönsten. Aber es gibt auch einige gemütliche Pubs. Das orange Boot sieht sehr nach Lifeguard aus. Eine schöne Aufnahme.LG Manuel
