Hamburg Hbf Patterns

On my recent visit to Hamburg, I spent many hours on different days shooting the architecture
and activity that make the city's Hauptbahnhof such a magnet for the train-loving photographer.

Whether digital or film, most of my captures were of the extensive activity of multiple types of trains,
and passengers awaiting, disembarking, etc., on virtually all tracks inside this cavernous structure.
These will be appearing by and by, but I felt this Kodachrome to be a bit “special” – simply because
it captures a rare moment when there was not a single train on this side of the station, allowing
an undistracted view of the girder work and all the shapes, forms, and patterns that make up
the scene, as highlighted by the afternoon sunshine of an October day.

From a Kodachrome-25 transparency.
