An unserem ersten Abend in unserer Ferienwohnung oben in den ligurischen Bergen machten wir gleich Bekanntschaft mit einem Mitbewohner, einem Gecko. Schnell gewöhnten wir uns aneinander und auch daran, dass es dort wohl überall von Echsen & Co. nur so wimmelt. Diese flinke Ruineneidechse, auch italiensische Mauereidechse bekannt, lief uns in Portofino auf dem Weg zum Leuchtturm über den Weg, weitere Kollegen folgten nach und nach ;-)
Ruineneidechsen werden bis zu 25cm lang und fressen Insekten wie Fliegen, Schmetterlinge, Raupen, Grillen und Heuschrecken, aber auch Spinnen und Würmer.
On our first evening in our holiday flat up in the Ligurian mountains, we made the acquaintance of a flatmate, a gecko. We quickly got used to each other and also to the fact that the place is teeming with lizards and the like. We came across this nimble ruined lizard, also known as the Italian wall lizard, in Portofino on the way to the lighthouse, and other colleagues gradually followed ;-)
Ruin lizards grow up to 25cm long and eat insects such as flies, butterflies, caterpillars, crickets and grasshoppers, as well as spiders and worms.
