First Light USA
The first sunlight to fall upon American soil each dawn is on the peak of this Mt. Katahdin. I am fortunate to be able to see this every clear morning. Each sunrise on the mountain is of course unique. The darkness in the foreground is realistic. The sun's rays are far above the trees and they are lit only by the early morning twilight.

Beautiful shoot and marvelous light! How high are these mountains? It seems that they are over 3000 meters high...
In Germany we have such mountains only in the far south and here in my area, we have only hills with less than 80 meters, often not enough for mountain biking ;-)
