This locomotive was heating sleeping cars that would be later attached to a London to Scotland sleeping car service. The viewpoint, unfortunately, being dictated by the need to keep out of the rain!
Sir William Stanier´s 5MT - is it an empty stock train she will be pulling out of the station?
Yes, Preston still remains a hotspot on British rails. Fine nightshot, though you unfortunately again cut the signal mast/ladder, anyway "making" the picture! But aside from this it´s a fine example of how a night shot could be done and worked out!
