Sorry Martin. I didn't realize the policy. I was just excited to share my findings. Use of rechargeable cr123a batteries.CAUTION THERE ARE 2 CHOICES OF VOLTAGE MAX 3.2V 680mHa AND MAX 3.4-3.6 650mHa BATTERIES When ordering these rechargeables make sure that you order the lower voltage batteries with the max voltage of 3.2 volts. If you use the higher voltage batteries (3.4-3.6 volts) there is a possibility of equipment damage.

Flash light for Canon EOS350D

The dedicated Canon flashlights are definitely a good choice.
There are some other however as well which sometimes can be a lot cheaper.
Sigma makes a Canon ttl dedicated flash which is good and a lot cheaper.
type 500 ST Super, the guide nbr of that one is even a bit higher then the Canon one.

It should be remembered that the 18-55mm lens is the equivalent of 27-82.5mm in 35mm analogue, and the 24-120mm lens is equivalent to 36-180mm 35mm analogue. Your 18-55mm must be the AF-S DX, which is great for normal and landscapes.

Your shot 'casual' must have been taken at the lower end of the focal length, which will inevitably at such close range optically distort the facial features, as would any other manufacturers lens. The same shot with the same lens at the higher end, would have been perfectly normal, portraits are generally better at around 135 to 180mm.

As for the colour changes, I dont see how the lenses would have a marked difference in 'trueness' of colour. More likely the camera setting is the cause. Both Canon and Nikon are corrected for Chromatic aberration, which has the effect of reduced sharpness and fringing (white light having coloured halos), so that should not be a problem. Stopping down the lens will reduce this effect should it be there.

Minolta Camera Repair in Germany

Hello everyone. I recently bought a minolta maxxum 400si off of ebay, and the winding motor has already started to malfunction. I am wondering if anyone knows of a good place near Heidelberg, Germany that does camera repairs. I am not too good at speaking German yet, as I'm still fairly new to the country, and hope to find a place that can speak atleast a little english and is reasonable in price.

The camera I got was too good of a deal to send back because of the malfunction, because it came with two different lenses that are worth what I paid for the whole deal. I'd rather just suck it up and get it repaired, so I can have another working camera.

I used to have a kingpano for the D70 and it's kit lens.
To be honest I thought that was the maximum weight it could use well. It's not bad for the money, that's for sure.
Once I started to use the D2X the kingpano was simply too small, so we now have a Manfrotto system. Even that is stretched to it's limits of stability with the D2X and 17-55 hanging on there. However, we have used it with the Hassleblad and digital back with some good results. Despite the file sizes being rather huge.

handheld is fine for landscapes, but interiors are just not going to be up to scratch, were the nodal and parallax is going to be vital.

We do a lot of 360° Sphericals too, so a panohead is pretty essential for that. Especially when we're taking up to 32 shots for one 360° image.

It all depends how serious you are about it, the kingpano is an idal starter, as is the panosaurus and nodalninja.
Both lightweight and quick to set up.

Software, I use PTgui and Realviz, both have strengths and weaknesses.

If you're dead serious, you will want to look at the products from 'roundshot' hold that wallet tight though !

Maybe someday we will have 32 or 64 bit imaging devices (cameras, software and displays) ... until then, this looks like a good approach.

At our local photo club we've used picture2exe. It makes a very good slide show in a few clicks, including your own music tracks and tons of fading effects. The result is a single file executable program that plays on any PC running Windows.

It's not exactly free but a personal licence for $24 is not too much for such a neat program.

download with card reader and ONLY FORMAT IN CAMERA AFTER EVERY SHOOT never a lost or corrupt image
shot on continious at motor sport in raw never waited for card or camera to catch up.

No one ever seems to mention the HP line of printers. Given that they have the largest share of the Business Market, we seem to dismiss their Photosmart line. I have been making fine exhibition prints with the 8700 series printers and, having compared them to the Epson line, foung them to more color accurate, faster, and a bit more detailed.
Since switching to digital from Minolta-scanned 35MM, I have been able to create prints of equal quality from either through 16X20 inches.

I am on my third mac and I love them. They don't crash, don't get viruses, and are very streight forward to use. I have to admit that when I first got it, I had trouble because I had only experienced windows and the operating system is quite diff. That was the only drawback which went away with use. The technical support is very good also.

I have been told by Mac that photoshop does not run at the increased speed the new machines promised but that is because Photoshop has not completed it's software conversion. When that happens, between April and June (they say) we should see a real difference in processing speed

Hi everybody,

I will be in Las Vegas, USA, next month and look for a large, inexpensive and well maintained store for photgraphic equipment. I especially would like to purchase some Nikon DSLR- equipment such as speedlight SB 800 and grip MB 200, which - as far as I know - in the United States sells significantly cheaper than in Europe.

Any ideas?
