Wat Si Saket in Vientiane
Wat Si Saket was built in 1818 on the orders of King Anouvong. It was built in the Siamese style of Buddhist architecture, with a surrounding terrace and an ornate five-tiered roof, rather than in the Lao style, keeping it safe from the armies of Siam which sacked Vientiane in 1827.
It features over 10,000 Buddha sculptures of varying sizes and styles. Thats because the temple also called the housing thousands of Buddha images.

Inzwischen hat man etwas renoviert und "aufgehübscht". Der alte Zustand - den ich ja auch noch von früher kenne - hat mir viel besser gefallen, er war authentischer.Am Nachmittag war es hier im Sommer 2022 total menschenleer, die wenigen thailändischen Reisegruppen waren wohl alle schon am Vormittag dort.

Eine ausgezeichnete Ansicht ist das von Vientianes ältestem Tempel.So schön auch, dass da gerade niemand umherlief.
