Wat Si Khun Muang in Chiang Khan
The northern city Chiang Khan is an amazing destination for individual travellers and tourists. Its worth to stop an visit the temples areas.
Wat Si Khun Muang is the most sacred temple in Chiang Khan. Its construction dates from King Rama III. The architecture of the ordination hall is influenced by Lanna and Lan Chang styles found in Northern provinces and Laos. Besides its architectural style the colorful visotrs note its mural paintings on the exterior facade. It is a small temple but it does not lack charm. A giant guard and 2 Singha stands at the entrance of the main building. It houses a statue represents Buddha sitting on a naga snake with many heads. At its right, there is a traditional boat suspended at the ceiling.
