The Living Forest (715) : Brambling
The brambling is a songbird, breeding in the tundra forests of northern Europe, Russia and further into eastern Siberia.
Each year in september bramblings migrate to western & southern Europe to avoid the harsh winter conditions in the far North.
My shot shows one of the first returned bramblings. The photo was taken in september with the bird still in summer plumage at that time.

Latin name : Fringilla montifringilla
