The Living Forest (513) : Roe deer
Deep down in the forest, in a sunny grassy clearing, I spotted this female roe deer.
This wonderful animal inhabits mixed woodlands with dense undergrowth and open grassland all over Europe.
Peak activity is at dawn and dusk.
Dutch name : Ree
German name : Reh
Latin name : Capreolus capreolus
