Some time ago I visited Roma, expecting to shoot many great photos...
Well to be honest, I once again felt lost in this big touristic scene. Certainly because I hate to shoot the same postcards like "tousands" of other tourists.
Here a few images I have selected .....of the fountains and some architecture scatered all over the city....

    that's why children are afraid of gargoyles! actually, this one here gives me the creeps, too ; )) – i'm amazed at the strange "gothic realism" the artist of the fountain seems to have applied in creating the face of this sculpture! is the date in the back – 1711 – the year of its origin? with its eyes rolled up towards the sky the "neptunal" face ; )) seems to be tormented and scared, deeply afraid of the year 1711 ; )), or of whatever might be hovering in the air above it! and the toothy mouths, of both man and dolphins are truly frightening! a great "off-the-well-trodden-paths shot"! greetings, sabine.

    Great idea, Berthold ... one does not get to see the special views very often .... a very expressive face for this fountain ... great shot and presentation.
