Q-Scape No.7 - At Times Square

In the bustling Times Square-42nd St Broadway Line Station, a Coney Island-bound Q Train of R68-type railcars
is about to depart from the Downtown Express platform, while another Q, bound for E 96th Street arrives at the
Uptown Express platform. This being an Express (four-track) station, beyond the passengers at left is the Uptown
Local track and behind the photographer, across the platform, is the Downtown Local track.

Above can be seen a mezzanine which makes the [BMT] Broadway Line portion of this extensive underground complex one of the more interesting for the Subway enthusiast, providing views to the tracks below, serving, in addition to the Q, the N, R and W Trains on the four tracks.

The Q begins its long journey on Manhattan's Upper East Side at 96th Street Station on the Second Avenue Line before continuing downtown on the Broadway Line to cross over the East River via the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn, where it runs, mostly above ground, all the way to Coney Island's Stillwell Avenue Station.
