Picnic underneath the holy Bodhi Tree

The Bodhi Tree, also known as Bo (from the Sinhalese Bo), was a large and very old Sacred Fig tree located in Bodh Gaya (about 100 km from Patna in the Indian state of Bihar), under which Siddhartha Gautama, the spiritual teacher and founder of Buddhism later known as Gautama Buddha, achieved enlightenment, or Bodhi.
A Bodhi tree in Thailand is said to be the type of tree the Buddha sat under as he received full Buddhist enlightenment. The Thai Buddhists hold the tree sacred and frequently wrap silk around it in respect.
Beside a group of local pedestrian take their picnic in the shadow underneath the holy tree.
The photo was shut nearby Mukdahan city easter Thailand in January 2000 with a NIKON A1 camera and Kodachrome slide film 50 ASA, scanned with a NIKON CoolScan V ED
