Nomads livestock breeding

Mongolian nomads means of transportation are horses (and sometimes camels). A child in the age of 4 years already has to learn how to handle and to ride an horse.
"A Mongol without a horse is like a Bird without the wings". Genghis Khan himself once said: "It is easy to conquer the world from the back of a horse".
A nomad with many horses is considered wealthy, and having many horses which are also in good shape is considered honorable behavior.

Wow...da sind ja wirklich alle Farben dabei. So eine schöne Herde hab ich noch nicht gesehen.

nein, liebe Brigitte, ich liebe Pferde, aber ich kann nicht reiten und will es auch nicht, nachdem ich mal in der persischen Wüste schrecklich vom Pferd gefallen bin. Trotzdem schätze ich den Reitsport, solange die Pferde gut behandelt werden, Gruß Wolfgang
