    CIAo caro Fratello....
    Look at how pretty this newsstand is... It even has sun (or rain) blinds.
    Once there were a lot of such kiosks, especially in Venice... But now we have TV and  we can read the news on the Internet, that is more easy and free; perhaps we still buy magazines for gossip about VIP , but they have to round up by selling caps, gadgets or souvenirs.
    Poetry has been lost...
    My heart beats faster when I see pictures of Venice.  Thank you

      ...I love this little newsstands - they are always a place to meet people...In Greece for example they were everywhere, on every streetcorner...long ago. In Germany we don't have this tradition, we have kiosks, but they're selling mostly alcoholics and cigarrettes - so you can imagine, which kind of people you can meet there. As you say - poetry gets lost, in all kinds of traditions...these are our times, we cannot change them...I'll look for other pictures to fasten your heartbeat...:-)) Ciao, Crissy!

    Straßenkioske gehören zu unserem Stadtbild einfach dazu und sie erfüllen auch ihren Zweck, neben dem Zeitungsgeschäft. Prepaidkarten aufladen, ÖPNV-Tickets verkaufen etc., die Funktionen sind vielfältig. LG Gerhard
