Allisa,...I had missed this images..you have a good subject,...but the lighting is low and so you lose quality in regard to image.
Use your new camera,..but with a higher ISO,...maybe 1600 speed it will help you with low light conditions...
I know its going to be fraustrating,..but you will get there surely!..
