Inside the holy yard in Pura Melanting
During the last Tirta Yatra festival inside the holy center yard thousands of hindu pilgrims in blocks of 250 temple goers got the holy tirta (holy water) to bring home to bless the daily offerings.
The temple Melanting is dedicated to the god of prosperity is busiest on the auspicious day Kajeng Kliwon Purnama when devotees come from all over Bali to receive blessings for their business pursuits.
The ceremony is called tirta yatra. Derived from Sanskrit, tirta yatra literally means “sacred holy water pilgrimage”: a journey (normally of a substantial distance) to seek and or collect holy water.
