Hvitserkur ist ein Basaltfelsen an der Ostküste der Halbinsel Vatnsnes im Nordwesten Islands. Seine Name, übersetzt etwa „weißes Hemd“ kommt zum einen von seiner Form, zum anderen von der Färbung durch Vogelexkremente. Der 15 Meter hohe Felsen am Húnafjörður ist ein Nistplatz für verschiedene Vogelarten wie der Dreizehenmöwe und des Eissturmvogels. Zu meinem großen Glück zeigte sich wenigstens für kurze Zeit mal die Mitternachtssonne zwischen den Wolken.
