Hebridean Tour: Scolpaig Tower
The Outer Hebrides are not a place to go to see lots of typical Scottish castles so Scolpaig Tower on North Uist (Uist a Tuath) is one of the few such buildings. Built in the 19th century and also called McLeod's Folly as it seems to have been buit more to occupy local people than for a real purpose.
Es gibt wenig Castles auf den Äußeren Hebriden, also ist der Scolpaig Turm auf Nord Uist (Uist a Tuath) eher eine Ausnahme. Gebaut im 19 J. und auch als McLeods Torheit genannt, der Bau diente anscheinend eher als Beschäftigungsmaßnahme für Einheimische als einen anderen Zweck.

Der Turm gibt dem Bild einen ruhigen Bezugspunkt, das ist sicher ein Grund dafür warum er hier steht.LG Doro

An dem Standpunkt hat es bei mir aus Eimern geschüttet. Jetzt sehe ich endlich mal, wie der Turm bei gutem Wetter aussieht. Und das Wollgras blüht auch noch!Klasse Aufnahme, die Erinnungen weckt!
