Sembra la scena di un'opera teatrale, in realtà è "una successione di coincidenze meravigliose". E' Piazza della Signoria in una originale interpretazione, dove l'ombra in primo piano e i fumi in fondo creano un'atmosfera da "inferi" ma al tempo stesso documentano un rituale quotidiano del cameriere. Il bianco e nero è molto ben realizzato, senza contrasti esagerati ma con una discreta delicatezza tra i vari grigi e i bianchi.
