Four chorten on the track
Chortens symbolize the state of parinirvana, attained by Buddha.
In Buddhism, parinirvana is the final nirvana, which occurs upon the death of the body of someone who has attained complete awakening (bodhi).
We always pass the chorten clockwise leaving a stone on the base.
The slide photo is scanned by a Nikon CoolScan 5000 ED from Kodachrome 50.

danke, lieber Georg, leider kann ich eine editierte Version meines Fotos bei fotocommunity nicht ersetzen, ohne das jetzige Bild mit all den Kommentaren zu löschen und eine neue Version ganz neu hochzuladen. Darum lass ich lieber diese unkorrigiert hier stehen. Nachtrag: du könntest evtl. durch "Unscharf Maskieren" in mehreren Stufen das Bild noch schärfer hinbekommen. Dann wäre es optimal. Die Farben sind exzellent und harmonisch.Sigrun v.K. 11/12/2012 8:43

wunderbare Aufnahme von den Chorten, diese sind besonders schön, da sie wohl schon lange exisitieren.Wunderbar, majestätisch wie der Weiße Riese dort hervorlugt.
