Die zahlreichen Schluchten und Canyons in Island gehören zu den schönsten der Welt. Eine dieser Naturschönheiten ist der Canyon Fjaðrárgljúfur. Im Südosten der Insel gelegen, bis zu 100 Meter tief und 2 Kilometer lang, hat die Natur in tausenden von Jahren, hier eine der grossen Sehenswürdigkeiten von Island erschaffen.
