Drama at the lake......
In the early morning, I spotted this grey heron after catching an adult mallard as prey.
It took the heron more than 10 minutes to swallow the entire duck....!

Irre, das habe ich auch noch nicht gesehen .Beeindruckendes Foto.
Eine 3/4 Stunde hat mal ein Graureiher versucht einen riesigen Fisch zu verschlingen .
Als das nicht klappte, hat er angefangen ihn zu zerlegen .

Unglaublich…..ich konnte ihn mal von weitem fotografieren als er ein Bisam runterschluckte, aber die Ente ist ja noch größer. Faszinierendes wildlife.Grüße Simone

An incredible scene - superbly captured!I knew that they occasionally try to catch other birds, but that they attack such large birds is new to me. Great wildlife shot!
