The Old Harbour - Cockenzie and Port Seton

Cockenzie and Port Seton has grown from what were initially two small fishing villages. The older parts of the town, between the two harbours, retain a more traditional feel and look, similar to many other small fishing villages on the east coast of Scotland. Although the fishing industry has declined in recent years the harbour at Port Seton still retains a small fleet of vessels, mainly fishing for prawns. In the past Cockenzie was also involved in the salt making and coal mining industries.[5]

Cockenzie's most recent claim to fame is attributable to the building on the far left. This is the Royal British Legion Club, and the interior was used in the recent film - The Railwayman. Also my wife comes from Port seton, but after 37 years I am still very much an Outsider.

    Wonderful monochrome image.
I really love the dynamic sky and the harbour wall growing straight into the picture.
    Best wishes.

Very beautiful monochrome, Lawson, To my opinion the slightly excessive contrast sits well and the water surface is excellent.
    many wishes alexander

strong fortifications against high tides and sudden
storms .... strong feelings against newcomers like
in many old and proud little towns - you show this
harbour well, Lawson .... light and sky and reflections
    are wonderful !!!
    greetings, Adele

interesting stuff! and the shot is full of suspense! in fact, it has me wriggle in my chair, wanting to know what's behind that concrete barrier on the left. the seemingly low, lid-like clouds even enhance that feeling. and the light, once again, is beautiful!! greetings, sabine.
