About me

I started to be interested in photography in 2006, purchased my first DSLR in 2007, and shot extensively for 3 years. Having moved to a different country in 2010 and due to some life challenges, I barely shot anything since and have had a somewhat disinterest in photography in general. I learned the technical aspects very quickly but I have not been able to develop my own artistic style. My tastes keep evolving and I am less concerned with the technical aspects, or the "correct" composition, or the lack of "mistakes" and I am a lot more interested in the mood and impact of a photograph.

Of course, both mood and impact are very dependent on light, composition, and technique. However, a tilted horizon, a badly cropped shot, a slightly out of focus subject, or some blown up highlights are not the standards I judge a photograph on because even with these flaws it can still be engaging, interesting, and thought provoking. I will always appreciate a harsh and sincere critique of my photographs. Sometimes the personal relationship with a photograph that I have taken, the way I took it, the conditions, the feeling I had when I pressed the shutter etc might blur my vision of it and I will definitely perceive it differently from someone else. So please feel free to critique as sincerely as possible and it will be highly appreciated.
