About me

My interest in art began with drawing ,later painting, then photography.I started getting serious about art in the 1970's.My humble beginings in Photography ,started with Pinhole cameras and paper negatives in High School and then again in college. At college (1976) we built a much better camera out of Matboard . This camera used 4*5 film and contact prints. In (1977)I worked and saved all summer for a Canon AE-1 35mm camera. That year in college I studied color transperancy,B/W polycontrast paper, and graded contrast B/W fiber based paper. After I dropped out of college, I experimented with Polariod SX-70 Film and Polariod 4*5 films with a used Graflex.I shot mostly Kodachrome Slides for the next twenty years concentrating on trains and Railroading mostly. In 1984 My wife Becky gave me a Nikon FM-2 which I have been using for over twenty years .Of course i shot my share of family photos with 35mm color negative film .
I am now working with digital .I shoot with a Nikon D-70 and three lenses 50mmf1.8D,18-70mmf3.5-4.5G, 80-200mm f2.8 ED IF.I print My own Photos using a Sony Viao computer and a Epson 2200 printer .I have a Nikon coolscan IV film scanner and an old HP flatbed scanner.
