About me

Fall 2015 - Reload…

On the tenth anniversary of membership at, I have realized something; and I will explain by analogy:
When I first started guitar, I wanted to sound like my idols: Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana, Pat Metheny. I tried and tried… practiced and practiced. And I found, of course, that I could never sound like them. But, I discovered that if I stopped trying to imitate and just played, I could sound like myself.
So it is with photography. I must accept that I will never “see” or “shoot” as others do, and if I wish to improve or even continue, it must be through creating the images that I enjoy.

So this collection will include many fumbled efforts. It will include adult and erotic stories, because I enjoy that. Some images will be attempts at pure art “photography” and some will be pure fantasy creations. If any aspect of my world connects with your world, please do comment.

As time goes on, I will be purging many previous submissions, and perhaps revisiting them afresh (reload…). I apologize to those who have commented before and whose comments are now lost, but this little gallery is more enjoyable for me when the exhibitions change…

I recently read a wonderful description of the artistic process by a woodcarver – he called it “creative meditation”. I suppose my “meditation” obviously focuses on my partner and muse, Marie.
(I included two examples of her amateur modelling work in the "links" section.) I spend a lot of enjoyable time on the three steps of image creation: planning, photographing, and editing. The goal (aside from creative meditation) is to share the variety of sensations that she reveals to me… I realize that this is a personal experience and may not convey to others, but it is fun for me to try. Thank you for your indulgence, comments and critiques.

I learn a great deal here, and sincerely thank those who have become friends over the years.

    Hi Mark,
Well, your entry under this photograph deserves the Gold Medal for Humorous & long Comments. As most of the responses to our photographs are in German I translate for my lovely model. Yours however she was able to enjoy in the Original. Thanks for your thoughts.
    Cheers, Alvin

Any digital camera can capture an image file (I tend to prefer Canon simply because I have several lenses by that manufacturer) - but I find the following software programs helpful for editing and compressing the image: Microsoft Digital Image Editor, NeatImage noise reduction, and Photomatix HDR. Also helpful is the Wacom tablet pointing device instead of a traditional mouse.
