I am returning to photography after a 15-year absence. Back in the 1980's I owned my own small photography business, and since I was an officer in the merchant marine I did a lot of travel photography. The demands of home and work and what became the demands (versus the love) of photography caused me to lose interest, and I disposed of most of my equipment.
This summer my wife "volunteered" me to photograph a wedding for a friend, and I rediscovered my love of photography. She doesn't realize the dragon she has released!
I use Nikon equipment exclusively. I have a Nikon EM, a Nikon F, a Nikon N2002, a Nikon F5 and a Nikon D200 (yes, I joined the Dark Side and went digital).
I enjoy photographing people and scenics. I don't travel as much as I used to, but I still do "local" travel photography. After all, West Virginia is a travel destination to all those who don't live here but who visit, correct?
In my "other" life, I am the director of the Inland Waterways Academy at Marshall Community and Technical College, and as such I am a full time teacher and educational administrator. I am a doctoral candidate in education.
