Zion off the beaten track
West Rim Trail in Zion NP offers a lot of spectacular views and is a lot less crowded than the well known trails in Zion Valley. WTR leaves just below Lava Point, crosses the Horse Pasture Plateau and eventually joins the Angels Landing trail after roughly 13 very scenic miles or app. 6h of hiking. Make sure that you take the Canyon Rim trail instead of the Telegraph Canyon Route. The photo was taken along the Canyon Rim Trail at the end of May 2007 around noon towards the Right Fork and Cougar Mountains.
