the probably most seen view of the Winter Palace/Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia .... here with the River Neva and taken from one of the bridges.

Putins Geburtsstadt hat auf Dich aber einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen. Was man verstehen kann. Nur das Original Bernsteinzimmer hast Du wahrscheinlich nicht entdeckt. Schöne Doku.

Beautiful shot of the palace facade and the Neva river.But you know something, Adele, this is my bitter ever complain, how little Russian and how much Western European, Habsburgian, Austrian-Hungarian looks St Petersburg despite her undoubted beauty...And this is why, Moscow looks more genuinely Russian to me and keeps a better place in my heart!.. Oh!, well rubbish, just a personal view!...

da hat man einen ganz hervorragenden Rundblick und kann diese herrliche Architektur bewundern. Du hast mich mit Deinen Bildern ganz schön animiert, so daß ich eine Reise nach St. Petersburg in Erwägung ziehe.
Mal sehen wen ich dazu bringen kann mit mir zu reisen.

love, how the soviet fence is corresponding with the "pillared facade" of the stretched-out winter palace – both relics of a bygone past… i like the idea of moving in, through and out of the winter palace/hermitage again in your ongoing series. since we now seem to be distancing us from it, i'm bracing myself for when it's time to say good-bye… ; )) hugs, sabine.
