Trekking in the Cradle Mountain

While walking tracks cover much of Tasmania, there was always a gap between the major national parks and the northern coast. To fill this gap the North West Walking Club, marked a walking track from the seaside town of Penguin to the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. This is known as the Penguin Cradle Trail.
The track is not well known with visitors. In the north, parts of the track are often obscured by bracken and fallen trees.
The area also is the homeland of the Tasmanian Tiger which - people say - was extinct in 1930, but rediscovered again the last years.

Tiger, das liest sich doch interessant ! Könnte spannende Fotos bedeuten, ähnlich der Elefantenherde in Kunming. :-)))

  Der tasmanische Tiger hat mit dem uns bekannten Tiger, außer dem Streifenmuster, gar nichts gemeinsam, sondern ist ein Beutelwolf, der seit 1936 als ausgestorben gilt. Aber von vielen Einwohnern wurde der Tassiwolf, wie er oft auch liebevoll genannt wird, wieder in freier Wildbahn beobachtet. Eine Geschichte, die der von Loch Ness oder dem Yeti gleicht.
