Torre di orlogio

Venezia Piazza di San Marco Torre di orlogio.
(Mamiya 645, film Fuji Superia 120, negative 6x4,5 scanned later to digital).
The initial photo was in colour, good but rather common to my eye. So I converted it to b+w and came up a lot better with good contrast and detail. But then, judging that the wonderfully coloured azzure facade didn't show her beauty at all, I left it untouched and embedded into the monochrome eventually blending the two pictures. I also left the windowpanes to the right because it suited.
Thanks for your opinion and judgement!...

The use of both mono and colour here has worked magic, the resultant picture is superb.

what splendid architecture and details in the clock tower of San Marco .... your intricate editing work has paid off - the colourful patterns really stand out from the monochrome !!!
    greetings, Adele

The blues are striking, I could imagine the editing you spoke of. I wonder about a more subtle color, but thats only because I always wonder. Thank you for a great description of a great work. Had me working slides at the photo editor in the old brain.

...quando il leone di san Marco dominava si facevano dei bellissimi monumenti, come questo.
splendidi i due mori che battono le ore sulla campana, peccato che non si veda lo stupendo orologio... diventato famoso anche per una scena di un film di 007.
    :-)
    ciao
