The Living Forest (498) : Long-eared owl.
During daytime, the forest offers a good place to sleep for birds that are mainly active by night.
I was very lucky to spot this long-eared owl, perched in some junipers.
I had to wait to shoot him for about 30 minutes before the morning sunlight lighted up the owl in a sufficient way for only a few seconds.
Dutch name : Ransuil
German name : Waldohreule
Latin name : Asio otus otus
Location : Longfaye (as far as I know the only place in Belgium where junipers grow in the wild)
