The Living Forest (240) : Lesser Celandine
Lesser celandine is a low-growing plant with fleshy dark green, heart-shaped leaves and bright buttery yellow flowers.
This species prefers a damp ground and can be found in a range of habitats, mostly wet woodlands but also hedgerows, churchyards, road verges, meadows and river banks.
Dutch name : Speenkruid
German name : Scharbockskraut (auch Feigwurz genannt)
Latin name : Ranunculus ficaria (syn. Ficaria verna)
