Surviving.
this is a beautiful male Chaffinch, taken today at a nature reserve. it has a particularly large mass of green rump feathers, not often seen.
also you may notice it is in a squat position, this is because it has only one claw and a stump for its other leg. it seems to be doing ok despite its injury.

Animals and birds are so good at getting on with life even when it treats them not so well. This little Chaffinch seems to be basking in the sun keeping warm. The colours and detail are excellent...great shot.:))
