Die Punk Group " Whisky Priests " hat den Grubenponys ein Lied gewidmet .
Das Pony in diesem Lied gab es wirklich. Es gehörte "John Egan " , der 50 Jahre lang auf einer Zeche im Country Durham in England gearbeitet und später sein Leben niedergeschrieben hat..
" Spring " hat im Englischen zwei Bedeutungen "springen" und "Frühling".
Der Text spielt mit dieser Doppeldeutigkeit.
