Shwedagon covered with straw mats

Once a year the giant Shwedagon pagoda is covered with bast mats for cleaning and repairing the surface of the golden stupa.
Anyway no visit to Burma is complete without a visit to the 2,500 years old Shwedagon Pagoda, which enshrines strands of Buddha's hair and other holy relics. The Pagoda forms the focus of religious as well as community activities – the bustling of devotees and monks washing the statues, offering flowers, worshiping, and meditating.

This photo was captured during my honeymoon in February 1981 and scanned with my NIKON CoolScan V ED.
It makes me fun to select and scann old photos, this reminds me old memories I made during an amazing trip.

Dann warst du ja sogar noch 4 Jahre früher als ich dort.
Und bist trotzdem später zurückgekehrt, in den Touristenrummel ? :-)))

es geht nur so, ich muss das gesamte bild erst löschen und wieder einsetzen.
Das Foto habe ich nach Deinem Vorschlag neu beearbeitet, aber das alte Dia macht es nicht leicht.
Das Originalbild ist bereits bearbeitet.
Außerdem hatten die KODAK Ektachrome Diafilme schon immer einen kleinen Rotstich, Gruß Wolfgang

Ein wahrhaft historisches Bild!
Die Patina (der Violettstich) liesse sich noch etwas auskorrigieren (ich habs versucht)
