Rosaflamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus)
Die Flamingos in der Camarque sind aus verschiedenen Medien bekannt. Wenn man mal dort ist und sie ganz dicht an einem vorbeiziehen ist es ein ganz besonderer Moment.
Um sich zu färben, fressen Flamingos vor allem Algen und Krebse, die spezielle Carotinoide enthalten. Dieser Farbstoff lagert sich dann in den Federn der Flamingos ab. (Quelle: Was ist was / Tessloff)
