Roll, Roll me Away

Old 7 Mile Bridge is open for people to walk or ride bikes to Pigeon Key. The bridge is getting older and in need of repair but the public funds are not available to they are asking for donation to fund the maintenance on the bridge. The ramp from the bridge to Pigeon Key was closed when we were there and the remainder of the bridge is on the verge of being closed too.

Excellent capture, reminds "easy rider" times.
Sadly that often an accident is what initiates urgent maintenance procedures..

wind in his hair, wanderlust on his mind… strangely enough, the former makes this image for me! it adds such a nice "jack-kérouac-on-the-road-beat-generation feel" to it and enhances the air of freedom evoked by the view down the loong road across the bridge – the journey is the destination… or so they say… ; ) greetings, sabine.

it looks like the bridge is a start to a long bicycle trip for this rider ... great depth in your image, one can easily imagine 7 miles here !
