Red-flowering Currant
Red-flowering Currant is a shrub that originates from the west coast of the United States and Canada (British Colombia).
Since its introduction in the 19th century as a garden shrub, it has become quite popular in European gardens.
The attractive flowers are produced in early spring at the same time as the leaves emerge.
My picture shows the birth of a new flower and leaf.
Dutch name : Siertrosbes
German name : Blut-Johannisbeere
Latin name : Ribes sanguineum
