Die Poitou-Esel sind eine gefährdete Großeselrasse aus Frankreich. Es gibt weltweit nur noch 140 reinrassige Tiere.
Sie wurden für Feldarbeit verwendet und für die Züchtung von Maultieren. Diese Esel werden nicht mit einer Bürste gestriegelt.
Aufgenommen im Haustierpark Werdum.
