pastels

While covering a painting class for the local paper I had the opportunity to capture a womans hands while she was showing her class how to draw her subject matter with pastels. Regardless of who she was the picture captured everything within it to tell the entire story of the subject matter in my perspective.

Dear Jim, you are absolutely right about the focus. Th elighting was so low in the building and she preferred no flash during her class. Great eye to catch that detail and thanks for the comment!

I like your lighting and the POV. The colors are very pleasing and the composition draws me into the image wanting to know more about what is taking place.

On the downside, I would prefer that the apple was not in the image. While it gives a hint that this is a class (apple for the teacher), its position in the image pulls my attention to it.

Also, and this may be just me, but a little sharper focus would help.
