I like the picture as such, the lightning works as well.However, I'd opt for a landscape format or even square though this is always difficult. The main thing which takes away the attention of the subject is the colored frame.
Try a landscape crop and put a neutral white'ish frame up. I am sure you would have more impact.
These are just my ideas of this image. Hope it is appreciated. Thanks.
